If/when they fail to get 100,000 registrants by the deadline it will
have been a very cheap way of obtaining the contact details of
thousands of people who would like to own a 3D CAD package.
Alternatively perhaps they really will give something away- but it
will be so out of date/crippled/buggy that it's pretty much unusable,
then they will hound you forever more to try to get you to buy the
latest version (I fell into that trap with a "free" desktop
publishing package).
