it has been at least 18 yrs since i made the round things. best i can
remember the material was alum-6061 T6, and it was 1" in dia and about 1
1/2" long. it was bored for a gear box 5/16" on one end and 1/4" for the
synchro on the other. made a steel sleve that the alum bland would fit in and
secured t with a couple of setscrews, one at each end. used (2) 5c square
blocks to secure the metal sleve and clamped them to the bed of a horizontal
mill. the cutter was about .030 thick and milled them to a depth of within
.100 going through. alternating sides and .050 apart . this was done for
about 3/4" in length just leaving room for a #10 setscrew on each end.
