Desk CNC SV 500 vs. Gecko 340

Hi!

I would like to hear from someone who has experiance with both types of
drives.

I have a bunch of 118W dc servos that I got for free and a couple of 46W
servos with 500 line encoders on them. I have bought the G340 and the big
servo performed excelent using TC as pulse generator for testing. During
heavy abuse the driver got mildley warm.... - no heat sink was applied to
housing.

The SV 500 servo driver (http://www.imsrv.com/deskcnc/servospecs.pdf) looks
suffucient enough to drive both 118W and 46W motor (at least on paper). It
is rated 30V 5amps - 150W electrically than. Did anyone try to use the
driver on a similar to mine 118 W motor?
My motors are rated 40V, 2.95Amp and 22V, 2.1 Amp for the small one.

What is tempting about the drives is their price tag - 65US vs 140US for
G340.... (which is with 80V-20Amps - 1600W rating much better - at least on
paper)

I would like to hear from others if the price difference is sensible for my
application.

Matjaz
