Hi Guys:

>>If the traffic on the Yahoo group is an indicator
he has thousands of users and / or followers.

I have found its the only real way to reach all those people. Mach2&3 now
have over 3000 users in many countries. Web stats show over 34Gb transfered
in the last 2 weeks the video experiment has been in effect. 27000 hits in
the two weeks its been in operation. The country stats are interesting as
they show Eastern Europe is specially interested in CNC , and the hit rate
is pretty high from Europe and Asia in particular.

I did start this as an experiment to see if it helps in support and
documentation (two of the most ignored aspects of any program..) and it does
seem to be a hit in that area. I have decided to do many more, and will
concentrate on more complex areas like Cosys , and scripting, screen design
and special op's in the coming weeks to see if it reduces support. With this
many users, trying to answer everyones questions is a full time job. (And I
have one of those already... :) ).

Support of any program is a difficult thing as peoples experiences differ,
their computers and machines vary , and the levels of experience and general
terminology all combine to create a problem in conveying information, I
suspect the video's, though written for Mach3, will in the end help all the
software out there as it does tend to imprint the concepts of the operation
of a CNC system. The Doc's for Mach3 have always been a hit and Ive heard
from hundreds of people for whom they have made a difference, so I suspect
the videos will help alot. I'm always up for suggestions and/or
constructive criticism, so yell if youd like to see anythign in particular,
as time permits I will try to match all the needs. Ive reserved several
GigaBytes for the video project so there should be plenty of room.

(Just to fill you in on the video web and how its going...)

Thanks,
Art
