Asian 3/1 Lathe, any good for conversion to CNC lathe?

Hi all,
Well, I have that itchy feeling again and I intend to buy myself a lathe
rather soon, which I shall ultimately convert to dual CNC/manual operation.
I have a horrid 7x12 at the moment, a truly nasty little machine and
wanted to be sure before I bought something new that someone has at
least had good experiences with it. The lathe I've been looking at is:
http://www.chesteruk.net/Model%20B-Super%203-in-1.htm
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=060712520&r=2043&g=106
It's sold under lots of different names, but is basically just your
asian-lathe rebadged to [manufacturer].
The price difference between the lathe and 3/1 milling is so little I
figure I'll get the milling head with it, even though I don't intend to
convert that part to CNC (I have a nice CNC mill anyway).
So how is this lathe? Good? Bad? I got to look at it at a local
machinemart and it seems well made with wide ways, very chunky and
rigid. I was wondering if anyone had done a conversion of this baby?
Thanks again!
Abby
