Looking for Help / info on HDT 4000 with Centurion III Controls

Hello All,
Some time ago, about 3 years ago (wow time flys), I purchased an
imported cnc mill call a HDT 4000. It is equipped with a Centurion III
control system. The machine has been sitting since it arrived and now
I have decided is the time to get this machine working or part with it.
Frankly, getting rid of it is something I don't want to do.
I have powered up the control panel a number of times and it indicates
it ready of input but I can't get very far. There is a partial manual
that does give some clue on operation. I have come with a number of
things to try this weekend, so I still have hope.
My questions to the group:
Does anyone have experience with this brand of mill or the control system?
If the control system is unworkable what would be a good replacement??
What components need to be in good working order to make retrofit
worthwhile? Spindle, drive motors, ball screws?
Last question. Is there anyone in the San Francisco bay area that could
give me hand? Of course, I would pay for your time.
I welcome any suggests, well other than, "Buy a boat, you already have
an anchor!"
Thanks,
Richard (Santa Clara, Calif.)
