I have a driver with the following Specs:
Output: 5A Rms Max.
Motor : 5A Peak Full-Step
Phase: 7.1A Peak Microstepping.

I have always thought of RMS as voltage. What strikes me odd is that
if the voltage is DC, how do you get an RMS amperage ?

I think the origional poster might help clear this up by posting the
make and model.
