The "goldmine inits" aren't DRO's themselves, but refer to rotary
encoders that come with a servo motor sold by goldmine for only a few
bucks, something like $4.95. The encoders are 1000 count so they quad
out to 4000. Goldmine is an electronics surplus company and the
address is www.goldmine-elec.cm.
The DRO is a design that Art Eckstein brought to the list using
those encoders.
Art has a nice web page showing his design as he applied it to his
Mill/Drill. The address is;
