Heidenhain Encoder Wiring Help?

on 2005-12-06 22:54:28 UTC
I bought new servos to retrofit my Bridgeport Series I CNC. They are
older General Numerics (Seimens) DC servo motors. I've rebuilt them
with new bearings and cleaned them up, but I need to know how to wire
the encoders. They are Heidenhain ROD 320 encoders. Id. Nr. 209 698
01. They have 8 wires plus a shield coming from them. The wires are
pink, green, blue, brown, white, yellow, red and grey. I'll be
hooking thes up to Rutex R2020 drives. I have to assume that the 8
wires are A, not A, B, not B, Index, not Index, Power and ground, but
I have no way of knowin which is which. If I even knew which was
power and ground I could probably deduce the rest, but I don't even
know where to begin. I've tried Google for Heidenhain, etc to no
avail. Does anyone have any idea on wiring for these?
