How about this:
$2300 -- Used Bridgeport Series2 Boss CNC mill found on ebay. -Be
careful - Shipping could be expensive!
$400 -- 5hp Rotary Phase converter or VFD.
~$400 -- 3 Gecko G202 stepper drives.
$250 -- Pico Systems Universal Stepper Controller board.
$400 -- New Dell PC.
$0 -- EMC
Maybe a couple of hundred in misc wires, power supply etc.
Total was around $4000...
In my case, about $3K saved, and a LOT more capability... My Series 2
Boss6 conversion took about a week. This wasn't my first CNC build,
but
it wasn't difficult either. My retrofit is running the original Boss6
900 oz in Superior stepper motors. Easy 150ipm rapids...
