Dynamyte 2400 - Help Required Please

Can anyone help me to get one of these up and running? Mine is in
excellent condition, with original software, though I suspect it was
standing unused for a time.

I have a Programming Manual that makes reference to a Service Manual
that I don't have; and getting my hands on one of these would be a
good start. So far, I haven't achieved much further than switching
it on, - the display asks 'Ready', and after pressing 'Yes' it makes
a reference to backlash and goes no further. However, today after
pressing 'Yes' the Z axis head made a tiny move and the display
showed a message 'Intialising', but a humming noise lasted longer
than I liked and I switched off in case of burn out.

I'm sure it's something simple I need to do to get up and running.
There must be folks out there who still operate these machines. I've
been told that Dyna don't support this kit anymore. Helpful contacts
who could save me a lot of dead ends, mistakes etc. would be very
much appreciated.
