Well, in the video I am using a 50 watt medical CO2 laser with an
articulated arm, but I also have a mounting plate that bolts the
small Synrad to the side of my cnc mill Z axis head. Note that I
have a rather large bedmill...the head weighs about 500lbs and has
16 inches of Z travel. It doesn't really notice the 10 pound or so
Synrad...thinks it is a moth or something I guess.

I rather like the way this Synrad is mounted on this gantry:

I may consider doing something similar when I build a larger CO2
laser cutter. I gotta think I can do better than $39,000 since my
first try was only $31.53 :-) That is a lot of wiggle room!
