FWIW, maxim is really great at sending out samples. Th eproblem is
that they're often not so good at supplying a smaller operation with
those sampled chips... But if you buy LOTS, they do well again.
So a hobbyist can get his onesie -twosie needs met for free, and a
large mfr is well taken care of. But a mid to low level mfr. will
often have problems getting stock IME.
A strange business model...
