We are slowly getting to a point where machines can and do go faster than tooling will tolerate. a friend of mine who programs some of the new and fast machines often has to skip over on a row of holes and mill the others on the way back, the reason is the need of more time for the coolant to keep the cutter from overheating. this is especially true when cutting plastics, stainless steel and titanium. He calls it hop-n-skip programming. cul brian f.
