The Tribology is completely different though,, so I don't believe it's a

I don't swallow the arguments for Acme type screws for any other readon
than cost. If I want good dynamic performance and low friction then
it's a good ballscew anyday of the week. As for them being more
succeptable to ingress from swarf etc, well thats the very reason they
are protected on a "real" cnc machine.

Enough of the patting each other on the back ffs!
