Regardless of the change, it will result in short term support issues.
For all of the units I sell I have always made the option to have +5
or ground as common on my cards. We normally ship them as +5 common
units. On complete units like the MP1000 series changing that means
opening the case. I will brace myself for the calls where "I just
hooked up my Gecko's and nothing is moving" (:[

What does lowering the input current requirements do to the noise
immunity? I predict there will be increased noise issues on drives
used in plasma applications or with VFD's. Common Ground may add to
that as well.

PS...I would love to see a line of higher voltage/ higher current
drives (especially in the Servo line).
