Thanks, I will keep that in mind if I have problems. My server was running
an extremely old version of Slackware Linux. I put it together on a Cyrix
586-100 when that was a hot processor, so that'll give you an idea of the age.
Samba didn't even exist then. The new server will be a much newer load,
probably Mandrake 7.1 or possibly Stormix.
I have a Sharp Widenote P133 laptop which I'm planning on using to drive
my mill, the thought being that it can come into the house during the winter,
as it hits -30F to -50F, and the shop is not heated. It'll be easy to pack that
up an bring it back in.
