Alibre has a very nice free 3D solid modeling program. It does most of
what other high end ($$$) CAD packages do but I find it weak on
assemblies. It exports STL and several other formats.
My experience with CAM is you mostly get what you pay for with the
exception of sheetcam which is amazing. I use sheetcam and VisualMill.
