As a newcomer, I am guessing about this but as the group progressed
and broke ground in the development of home built machines its core
membership would have developed also.
Starting with a high proportion of "boffins" for want of a better
description; those who have the imagination and aptitude to use
resources that weren't designed for so specific a purpose and then
tending towards a high proportion of end users who used the results
documented here to do their thing. These latter would have less in
the way of creativity about them and would perhaps be more likely to lurk.
Don't get me wrong. I intend no disrespect to either camp. This is a
natural development and has provided for people like me (in the latter
category) an extremely useful source of inspiration in my work. I
also find it an interesting group to read as I "get off" on technical
matter.
Thanks. Long may CCED continue.
