I don't think it's a lost cause. I could have that machine running
quickly probably. I use Flashcut gear, however, which greatly
simplifies things for me.
I think the MACH3 approach would be best for your setup. It's
probably worth much more than 100 bucks. I would see if you could get
that MDF out of the equation.
