You need to read the section on Motor Tuning. Each machine has a
different set of mechanics that make up the math that gives you the
correct distance. The secret is in the "Steps per Unit" setting. If
you are in Inches than it would be Steps per Inch. You have to
calculate the number of steps (pulses from the computer) it takes to
move your machine exactly 1.000 inches. If you don't know the value
of all the factors (leadscrew pitch, drive step rate, belt reduction,
etc) you have to determine it by trial and error. It will be the
difference between what you really move VS what is indicated on the
DRO for that axis.
