Emco Compact 8 Left hand threads

I need to cut 18 x 1.00 MM LEFT hand internal threads, and my Compact 8
change gears do not appear to be up to the task. No problem on 18 x 1.00
Right hand threads. So.... I believe if I purchase some additional gears,
bushings, and the rest of the goodies, I can put two smaller gears in the
"stack", and reverse the direction of the leed screw. It looks likes the
large gear off the 40 tooth head might be replaced with two smaller gears to
reverse the direction of that "ideler gear" and then it's business as usual
with the rest of the change gears.

Does anyone know where I can buy Emco Compact 8 Lathe parts (gears, bushings
and such) in California, the West coast, or at least at a reasonable cost
worldwide?

Does anyone have any experience with left hand threads on a Compact 8?
