>>>I have just picked up a 1970 something Gurley Pathfinder mod 8780,complete with good scales. The display appears to be beyond repair,
but I am still working on it. I have not had any luck finding any info
for it, so any help with that would be great. Also if anyone has the
Connector Pin out and what the resolution of these scales are, I have
found 2 Suppliers who might be able to get their displays to work with
my scales, and they are less than half the price Gurley wants!! Thanks Ed<<<

Depending on what you want to do, most scales don't need the factory readout for a display. I've taken scales from various manufacturers and used digital counters from Red Lion and others. Counters such as the Gemini series have scaling abilities so you can have metric or inch display, have a 12 or 5 volt sensor supply, quadrature inputs and so on. There are presets for limits or simple control.
One thing you must have in a counter is to know what happens when the count goes below zero. Cheap counters will read 999,999. Good counters will read 0 and then -.0001 and so on.
