Thanks for the quick response. What is the difference in the EZ240D18R and the EZ240D18?
The EZ240D18R is a random turn-on while the second one is zero voltage turn-on. Random is used on inductive loads like motors but zero crossing will work if the power factor is above .5.
I am going to control a Porter Cable wood working router on my computer controlled (CNC) machine.
The Porter Cable router has a built in soft start feature. I have been told that there could be a problem controlling the router with a solid state relay. Some users have complained that they could not turn it off. They were not using a Crydom solid state relays.
