Hello,
I don't know about the login problam as both sites worked for me
first time without login. And have worked since, even when accessed
from a new computer. (Sometimes I'm using "borrowed" computers at
jobsites to access things.)
I DO know that the Tiff thing at USPTO can be a PITA. Even after you
install the suggested "free" Special TIFF capable viewer; it may
stop working. That's what drove me to simply stop using the USPTO
directly for viewing patents.
The pat2pdf is more useful and the conversion is quick and pretty
seamless.
Sorry I can't help with the login request thing. Do you have your
compute on a work network which might have some admin related stuff
causing this? Are your internat security settings too high? Some
kind of firewall, or?
