I had mentioned and several people requested a video of the machine
doing something.
The cnc router is no longer scary as I lowered the rapid speed from
1700+ IPM down to 400 IPM. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-

Here is a link to a video of the machine cutting a piece of cedar. I am
using a 1/4" V Bit to engrave the street address number. I added a clip
art of the Cedar tree before the first nyumber and then traced a image
of Mt Rainier onto a piece of paper, Scanned it into the PC. Used a
raster to vector program to vectorize it and then pasted that into
Bobcad 21 to generate the G code. Mach3 is used as the G code
interpreter running on an old laptop.
I probably cut a little to deep and I should have been cutting a bit
faster as the first cuts burned the wood a bit. Frorgive me for that
as I usually work with metal and I am not well versed in wood butchering
:)
