hold the paper still while it's printing, so if you hold the paper
then the printer will move.
There is a microswitch there, at the end of travel(back of it).
There is a opto that tells the printer to keep moving the paper out
of the printer after it's done printing, I'm blocking that opto till
it gets to the large motor, when it gets there it hits the microswitch
I've programed the microcontroller to wait 2 sec. before moving the
gantry to the start position (to make shure the printer has stoped)
The opto is very good about positioning, I'm using it to reference
the printer at the NO paper on printer.
It moves 2225 steps forward to the start position. I can not use too
much return speed becouse of how the belt strechs out.
I'be built it from parts I had around, so it's time to get some nice
shafts, belts and so on.
I'm using the delay option on Roger's software to pause the printer
before moving to the start position, but something better will need to
be think .
I'm not messing around with printer electronics, I'm working around
it. If you get the same printer the only thing that has to be done is
to move the paper moving mechanism from inside of the printer to the
outside of it, and relocated the opto from the printer board to the
side of it.
