I'm in the process of retrofitting a Hardinge CHNC (serial # CNC 532).
The old Allen Bradley control, drives, ... were all long gone before
I got the machine.
Anyhow, the spindle motor is a DC servo motor and the Hardinge person
told me that it is rated at 5HP (nameplate says 3500 RPM, but nothing
about voltage/amps/wattage/...).
The Hardinge parts dept didn't have any info on it other than the
replacement motor cost: $13000.00 !!!!
Now, if I could just sell them my motor for half of that price...
Does anybody have specs on that DC servo motor?
Anybody have a speed control (or position control) drive for it or
recommendation for one?
Best way of doing the air/pneumatic driven turret? I'm planning on
using Mach 3 Turn software on PC using parallel port. Anybody have a
PLC set up for doing the turret indexing?
Specs on the Electro Craft E660 DC servo motors (X and Z axis motors)?
The ElectroCraft site doesn't seem to have much info other than the
motor being 200W.
I am hoping to eventually be able to drive the spindle as a C axis
instead of just speed control.
My budget is always tight (nil if you ask my wife...).
Thanks!
