If the part is drawn on paper then it really couldn't
be any easier. Just make some little crosshair reg marks
and scan half at a time. Maybe us a piece of glass to keep
the paper perfectly flat while scanning. Import each of the
scans as a separate layer, align, clean up, and then
merge the two into a single layer. Resize from there.
The paper drawing should make it easy.
