Hi All,
I hope this is Not Off Topic, and My Apoligies if so, Moderator Please
delete if it is. I'm haveing a problem with a part that is too large
to fit ina scanner. The size is 16'' X 9.800'', and want to get this
part in a CAD, DXF fromat, so I can edit and save as dxf and fromat to
GCode for Mach to run. I don't know where else to post this problem
I'm Having, or a solution that will make me preform the edit. The
tools I have at hand are, scanner, manual pantagraph, Standard CAD,
dxf converter, vector to raster, pencil, and the like. My scanner
measures 8.625X 11.750, and relative, it will not fit. Any Suggestions
on how to's. Again, If OFF TOPIC, MY APOLIGIES. Thanks, Hank S.

Hi, Mark:

If you've got a good digital camera, you can take a series of photographs, overlapping the left ends and then stitch it together. I've got a Canon A570 camera; the software that came with that camera offers a stitch function.

Of course, you'd have to be careful that you maintained the distance and perpendicularity between the camera and the object. But you'll have the same issues with using a scanner.
