Hi Steve,

Thanks for the information
The first switch I described is an NPN switch
I do have another switch, mechanical trigger it has 3 connections
NC, N0 and COM, I thinks this is the one you talking about.
I did try to connect com to input pin in breakout board and GND to N0 but it didn't toggle a high to Mach3!!!

If it's just a plain mechanical switch you only need two connections.

The documentation has examples in it in section 4.6 and appendix 2

If it's a three wire sensor try toggling active low/high in ports and
pins/inputs. You should see the respective led on the Mach diags page
toggle as you activate it.
