I have installed multiple versions of Ubuntu & Kubuntu at the same
time on the same disk. After partitioning the disk for Debian and an
"empty" partition and installing it, install Ubuntu in the empty
partition. The boot loader will automagically give you at least 5
choices at boot time. Both partitions will be visible to both OSes
if they are both recent releases.
