A while back I installed debian on a laptop with no CD via floppy. It
took 4 floppies I downloaded from the debian install site, then I was
able to install the rest from the internet. If your Son's laptop
already has Linux, can he access the internet with it? If so try
connecting to: http://www.goodbye-microsoft.com ( a Debian install
site) and take it from there.
