Good advice - but -
Mach3 is free for this kind of use.
No license needed for less than 500 lines of code.
Hand-coded (in maybe 20 minutes) you wont need more than 20 lines to do it.
Recommended.
EMC2 will work. Is more flexible. Is more difficult.
Both are good options.
