Ok on milling limitation.
Now a standard square (ok cube) pocket. A ball mill couldn't cut the sides or corner without leaving a radius. An end mill can cut the side without radius, but not the corner, and that's going to be a radius in a vertical line from the bottom corner where the 3 planes meet up to the top surface. Is there a technique to get around this, or just a hard limit of the technology?
Now the image shown here would seem to have a similar problem:

There are pockets shaped like a cylinder on its side, like a cutout for a bearing. If we were to drop in a bearing for example the corner where the removed cylinder's side and circular end face meet should not have a radius but an end mill can only cut radius-free on line which stays within a horizontal plane, right?
So we could change to a smalled end mill to reduce the radius, but we can't eliminate it, right?
Thanks,
Danny
