square column benchtop mill. What are the disadvantages skipping the
power feed and putting a servo motor and control on the X axis? Could I
still use a hand crank or could the control be via jog switches? I
don't think I want a computer on the machine yet. Can I use the
existing acne threads realizing backlash is a issue? I do have a DRO.
If this is not without too many pitfalls, where do I look for motors,
drivers, and designs? Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
