Couple of things, To be correct the cutter should be ground as an involute but this one was a cutter that was ground up to cut a rack
so it straight sided and not correct. The exercise was to cut a couple of gears purely as show demonstartions more then geometrically correct gears.
The program was hand coded by my sone. It's just a simple move in the X whilst the A axis is rotating using the helical formula to work out the X travel.
It then just returns, rotates to the next tooth and runs the same line as a subroutine.
Ignore the shaking on the video as the machine was on a skated transport stand when this was filmed as it was on route to a UK show.
