Shopsabre Stepper vs Servo Option

Hello all,

I'm in the market to buy a CNC 4x8 router to primarily cut MDF masters
(3-4" thick) for foam injection tools...pretty much 3D profiling type
work. I've looked high and low for the right machine that would give
me a balance between strength and speed while remaining in my budget
(around 20k).

I've narrowed my search down to the Shopsabre, due to the construction
of the machine and the support I've received from Mike at Shopsabre.
I'm certain there will be a difference in opinion with regard to my
choice, but at this point this machine seems to have many of the
features that I am looking for.

Long story short, I'm at a stand still in choosing servos over
steppers. This option will put me over what I intended to spend, but
could justify it if the feedback is unanimous. However, if this
option is something that is not necessarily needed, then I would like
to know.

At any rate, if there is anyone that has purchased a Shopsabre, I
would be extremely interested to speak with you.
