Stan,

the webcam I am using is a cheap one, but is 1600 * 1200 pixels.
The problem at that resolution is that the framerate drops off. To get
a good scan you need to mechanise the movement of the laser. At lower
es, it works with the laser handheld.

At some point I will replace the lens with one from an old video
camera that I have, it will give less distortion as well as add zoom
and a bigger aperture. I have done this once before with a board cam,
and it works fine..

ps, I have a Harley Road King Classic
