linear slides I found at the MIT radio club flea market and some other
surplus places. It is big enough for what I wanted- Ive made several
model train coaches on it, a couple model boats and many small signs.
If I were to build another I would not use the ballscrews. I think a
rack and pinion or timing belt would be better. I have no problem with
the McMaster screws, I used them in my Jet knee mill.
My router also uses some servos, also flea market selections, and they
really are not powerful enough and have to high a step count- 800 steps
per rev. This has made it slower than I would like.
But the machine works, and has done some good projects for me.
