Its a good policy but, unfortunately, this particular virus attaches itself
to emails invisibly and doesn't need to be opened to infect your machine. I
believe it hides in your signature file and so is automatically transmitted
out again with every email you send after it is activated (which apparently
only happens at 5:00pm on the first of the month following your infection so
making pinpointing of the source difficult). As I have scripting disabled on
my machine the virus could not establish itself and so gave me an error
message saying that 'kak.reg' could not be installed. If it hadn't been for
that, the virus could have been sitting on my machine for weeks without my
knowledge. There are two or three of this type of virus now doing the rounds
and they are all described on the Symantec site. Its a shame Microsoft don't
employ the clever people who invent these virus' - maybe then their sloppy
coding would get tightened up!
