Take a look at the Gecko G540. Uses parallel port, not USB, but it's
a plug & play self-contained 4-axis, micro-stepping driver. Just hook
up a 50V max power supply, your motor cables, and plug into Mach.

Mine arrived last week. I'm in the process of setting it up for my
second CNC machine using NEMA 23 steppers.
