If you use two diodes, and connect the center tap to capacitor minus, it
will produce ~71 V DC, so a 50 V capacitor is definitely out of the

You could possibly use a 75 V cap, but that is too slim a margin. A 100
V cap is much more reasonable.

If you use a full bridge rectifier across the 50 V AC terminals, you'd
get 142 V DC, so definitely do NOT do it that way.

That's for audio work, the Gecko drives don't mind a little ripple.

You don't say if this is for servo or stepper drives, which size Gecko
stepper drive, etc. so I can't give much info on capacitance value.
