Hi Jack,
Are you sure you need exactly 2k5? Some more common sizes are 2k2, 2k4,
and 2k7 (Jaycar.com has those, just looked - Digikey.com probably as
well).
Even a good quality 5% resistor, a 2.5 resistor would run anywhere from
2,375R to 2,625R and still be within normal tolerance.
I don't know what circuit it is going in, but I am guessing the more
common 2k4 would probably work for your 2k5.
Or, if the resistance is, indeed, critical, perhaps a 3k3 or higher trim
pot adjusted down to your 2k5R? With a multi-turn trim pot you should
be able to get it pretty darned close.
Or, put a 2k4R and 100R in series (you will, of course, need to check
the resistance to make sure they are within your tight specification)?
