I second Leslie's comments.
Removing the header results in the message appearing in the IN folder rather than the CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO folder.

Hi Tom,

I am afraid that asking people to remove the [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] header is
doomed to failure. Even you forgot when you wrote this post. The bit I
can't understand is why it gets trapped as spam. I have spam filtering
switched on in the SheetCam group and so far it has never done this.

Using a non-standard header causes problems for lots of members, me
included. Not only does it muck up many people's filters but it also
makes it a lot more difficult to identify what group the post originated
from.

When you say you catch off-topic stuff do you mean stuff from valid
members that is a bit off the CCED topic or do you mean adverts for
dubious medicines? If it is the former then your fix will only be
temporary. Most spam filters are based on Bayesian filters. These learn
from messages you mark as spam. As slightly off-topic messages are very
similar to on topic messages the filter has trouble differentiating the
two. If you regularly mark messages with the CCED header as spam the
filter will look for that header. If you change the header the filter
will slowly learn the new header and you'll end up with the same
situation you have now.

Most groups are set to moderate new members. Once the new member has
made a few valid posts they are taken off moderation. This stops 99.9%
of all spam. Fro members that post stuff that is off the CCED topic,
issue a warning and, if neccessary put them back on moderation. I think
that would reduce your workload considerably.

I have to go and fish out dozens of messages a day because the sender does not change the subject line. The only other option is to turn off spam filtering and it does help to catch some of the off topic stuff. There is no way to adjust the spam filter.
