Milling, Drilling and Tapping stainless bar stock

Hi

My project is a prototype frame that will be used as the frame for what I call a Thermal transfer tank. I have some very good sketches that are not to scale done with Microsoft visio. I have some areas of concern. Here's an example, the bar stock starts out as a metal bar that is 2" x 1". The 2 inch surface I will call the horitontal plane. On one edge (left) of the horizontal plane the top side is milled down 0.16" and bottom side is milled down .017". On the vertical plane a 5/16 hole is drilled in the center of the 1" vertical plane. This hole comes within 3/16 of the bottom of the milled areas. This hole will be tapped accomodate a 1/8" NPT fitting. Can anyone tell me if this is a problem, i.e. is there sufficient material left to maintain the integrity of the part? Also I could really use someone that can look at my sketches and notes and pass judgement on thier suitability to be given to a CAD designer to create drawings for input to a fab shop.

Regards,

Bob
