Hi, Another "strange but true" possibiliy is a ratcheting action of
the motor coupling. I have seen this a few times.

I would guess you have a fair amount of vibration at low speeds
because you are using a full step drive. Sometimes this can loosen
set-srews on the coupling and result in ratcheting in one direction.

To check for this draw a mark from the motor shaft to the coupling
with a fine felt-tip pen. Let it run for a while and then see if the
marks still line up.
