Hi Roland, I've balanced a few turbine shafts that rotate to 150K rpm on
a home built balancer. I've still got the bits somewhere. All it
consisted of was two nylon yokes that held the ceramic bearings on the
shaft, the yokes were slotted onto thin nylon sheet which allowed the
whole assembly to flex. On these were glued transducers and the output
into a two channel o'scope. This was mounted onto a solid base. The
shaft assembly was driven by a rubber band to a small electric motor
with a flat pulley on the shaft.
