OTOH - There is a Hobby/Home version of Alibre Design for about $99 that does 3D models and has output file formats intended for 3D printing. Alibre was bought by 3D Systems which was a leading pioneer in 3D printing via UV laser cured resins. Alibre also offeres Alibre CAM which is actually done by MECSoft.
