I helped a friend setup one several years ago, and he has run the
machine daily and made thousands of parts without a problem. He is happy
to run rapids that are slow by some standards, about 50ipm as I recall.

Bridgeport was a fairly reputable company and sold many of those
machines- I would expect them to work well. I would not expect them to
run at modern servo speeds.

keep it slow and you ought to be fine.
